Filiae Patriae – Vancouveri Koondise Protokoll
Puhapäev 25. Augusti a. 2019
1.       Teretulemast kõigile, pange nimi kirja ja tutvuge päevakorraga

2.       Vaadage üle järgmise aasta juhatuse liikmed,Kati Nõmme-esimees,Lilian Olljum- laekur. Kas on kirjatoimetajat vaja?
Merike Kolga lubas kontakti võta Toronto liikmetega.

3.       Plaanisime tegevuskava, iga teine kuu.Palju huvi oli raamatu klubi üle.Soovitati Gulag Archipelago,Tõde ja Õigus(Anton Tammsaare), Kevade (Oskar Luts), Mees Kes Teadis Ussi Sõnu(Andrus Kivirähk).Valiti viimane.  Mare T. võtab kontakti U.B.C.Botaanikaajaga - aprill 25,2020.  Mare R. võtab kontakti Thomas Kirvesega teemal eesti laulukoori muusika kohta.  Anu R. on kutsunud meid augustis Point Robertsi.

4.        Krista lühidalt kõneles Eesti keele arenemise kohta.

5.        Marje ja teised kõnelesid F.P. Koosviibimisest Tallinnas ja Portlandis.Loodame et Liisa kõneleb meile Estost.

6.        Järgmine kord räägime meie 100 a. Juubeli kohta.F.P.alustati 27 oktroobil a.1920.

Tänan kõiki huvitavate ideede eest järgmise aastaks.

1.       Welcome to everyone, sign attendance book, review agenda.

2.       Review officers for the coming year:  Kati Nõmme will continue as chair person and Lilian will be asked to continue as treasurer. We discussed the role of secretary and decided to take very brief minutes of the meetings. A volunteer will be asked to make notes (in English if it is easier) and then Marje will help to translate them into Estonian.  These will then be sent to our members and possibly posted on the blog with any images of the events.
We also agreed to contact members that have not attended in recent years and asked if they wish to remain on our email list for notices of our meetings and activities.  Marje and Mare T will contact those identified.
An additional idea was to make contact with the Toronto FP group to find out about their activities and events.  Merike will look into contacting one of their members.

3.       A schedule of meetings, every other month, were planned.  We had great interest in a February book club meeting and many good suggestions (Gulag Archipelago, new edition by Anne Applebaum, Tõde ja õigus  by Anton Tammsaare , Kevade by Oakar Luts). We decided to read and discuss The Man who Spoke Snakish by Andrus Kivirahk. Several meetings need more information and confirmation. Mare T was looking into a UBC Botanical Garden tour for April 25 2020. Mare R will contact Thomas Kirves for a possible presentation on the development of Estonian choral music.  Anu R will be contacted to confirm an August 2020 meeting in Pt Roberts.

4.       Krista gave a short description of the development of Estonian language, and the status of the language.

5.       Marje and others gave updates on FP gatherings during Tallinn’s Song Festival and Portland’s West Coast Estonian days this summer.

6.       Discussions on means of celebrating the 100 year anniversary of Filiae Patriae (founded October 27 1920) is tabled for a future meeting.

Thank you to all for contributing and providing input into an interesting series of meetings for the coming year.
